Originally based in Philly and then Denver, Public House New York is sure to attract fans of the previous spots as well as anyone looking for elegant food in a vibrant, energetic environment. Featuring a 100-foot bar with an x foot American flag hanging as the backdrop, Public House has cleverly designed a way to unite New Yorkers. Delicious food such as Buttermilk Chicken Tenders and Hot Crab, Artichoke and Spinach Dip will suit casual diners while the Seared Tuna Steak topped with Apple Mustard Chutney will cater to those who are interested in a more elegant dining experience. Meat lovers will savor the flavors of the signature Certified Angus Rib Eye priced at $24.95. So whether you are on a first date or business lunch, there is a menu for your needs.

Reliable Spot for Drinks and Food

Public House is a fairly new spot, with lots to offer. The happy hour prices are fair, and the giant space is filled on Thursdays and Fridays (er, and Mondays/Tuesdays too actually...) with young professionals working in the area. The crowd is a bit older than nearby McFadden's, if you are familiar with what a Friday happy hour is there... For the ultimate hangover cure try the grilled cheese, served extra greasy on thick bread, with a side of tomato soup. Other favs include the spinach dip and nachos. If you are looking to have a group birthday outing, Public House also runs the all-too-familiar 2 and 3 hour open bar deals. (Although at $40, I'm not sure how much of a "deal" it is.) A great spot if you're in the neighborhood.

I come here often for lunch & happy hour. Bartenders are always super friendly and the food is great! My group is always made to feel welcome and we love the ambiance. A little crowded after work, but what can you expect - few places in Midtown are this cool.

I say...find another bar.

Spacious. However, Happy Hour is INTENSE and super crowded. I went there after Happy Hour, to visit a friend bartending. Total B&T crowd, and my friend's Louis got stolen FROM THE BAR COUNTERTOP after she paid for a drink .Sketch, sketch, sketch. Total sausage fest, but unless you're into the whole B&T thing, don't go. And no offense if you are...that's just what it is. They do carry Basil Hayden's and Van Gogh Espresso Vodka...two plusses.
